Summary
The successful candidate is required to support the stores team to ensure customer deliveries are met by processing deliveries at goods inwards, fulfilling orders and internal customer demand. You will need to be health and safety conscious, show a good understanding of lean principles, including 5S, with a good attitude towards flexibility and cross training.
The operator will be responsible for ensuring the receipt, kit and delivery of parts utilising standard work within agreed targets, ensuring the effectiveness of operating procedures, space utilisation, and organisation of the physical warehouse.
A suitable qualification in Warehousing and logistics will be available in order to progress through the pay structure for grade 3 to grade 7.
Key duties and responsibilities will include:
- Ensure the safe and efficient receipt, storage, kitting and delivery of warehouse materials, goods and products to feed business operations and customer demand.
- Ensure Goods in receipts targets are achieved – current target is 1 working day.
- Ensure accuracy of receipting, picking and therefore raw materials/component stock (Target min 98%).
- Store raw materials in a safe, appropriate manner whilst ensuring traceability at all times.
- Issuing materials to Operators from the store pick list.
- Resolve any invoice issues in a timely manner
- Support the movement of parts to agreed production areas.
· Promote and ensure Health and Safety Regulations are adhered to.
Skills & Experience
- Previous stores/goods inward experience preferred but not essential
- Experience of lean principles, including 5S
- IT Literacy with good working knowledge of Excel & ERP Systems is essential
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
